ABOUT THE PRESENTATION —
“Tea with a Twist” (or How to Host a Kinky Tea Party)
by Ms Margaret and slave Erich

Who says a tea party must be a stuffy, conservative affair?
Kinky tea parties are a fun way to experience D/s and service in a pleasant and readily available setting – the comfort of your own home!

In this overview presentation, you’ll learn about kinky tea party planning and implementation. We will include a bit of history about tea in general, plus some recommended resources, tools and a few real-world tips for hosting your own “tea with a twist.” If time permits we will also share a few tea samples, offer a bit of “show & tell” in regards to a few useful tools and share a brief demo of the “NorCal Tea Society” style of service. ( www.twistedteas.org/)

(Please Note: This is _NOT_ a class about traditional Asian / Japanese ritual “tea ceremony.” The information we convey is intended to help you host a modern-day tea party, tailored to fit your specific needs and with a “twist” of kink added.)

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS —
Ms. Margaret (aka MsKitNboots) began her kinky explorations in the mid-1990s and calls the San Francisco South Bay Area home. She has served on the board of directors for smOdyssey, Inc and as co-coordinator for smOdyssey education. For five years she was the education coordinator for the annual FolsomFringe conference (2003 – 2007) and currently serves as the executive producer for Northwest Leather Celebration (NWLC), host of the Northwest Master/slave contest. Together she and slave Erich were honored with the Jack Stice Community Award at South Plains Leatherfest 2011.

Erotic Hypnosis for BDSM: Making Scenes Better Through Trance and Suggestion with Dr. HeadCrash
When: Wednesday Oct 3, 8-10pm, doors open at 7:30Location: Center for Sex & Culture, 1349 Mission St., SF (btw 9th & 10th streets)Cost: $5 Janus members and reciprocal orgs, $15 advance, $20 door all others. Prepay info below
About the program:
Much of what we do in BDSM play creates altered states, whether it be subspace or getting your Dom on, the transformation of pain and pleasure in an erotic context, or the complete focus that a good scene creates. You don’t need to know anything about hypnosis to make these things happen, but knowing something about trance states and suggestion can amplify your experience, sharpen intensely, and create new possibilities of play.
Whatever your style of play, in this introductory level class we will show you how to make your BDSM play better as a top or a bottom through intentional use of trance state and suggestion. We will combine a bit of theory with in-class exercises and demos that will give you the tools you need to start using this powerful technique to your scenes. Some knowledge of BDSM terminology is helpful, no prior experience with hypnosis is necessary. Showing up with a practice partner is encouraged but not required.
About the presenter:
Rich (aka Dr. HeadCrash) has been practicing and teaching erotic hypnosis in a BDSM context for over 20 years. An invited speaker and teacher at national and regional events, Rich has taught classes from New England to the San Francisco Bay, and is a co-founder of the San Francisco Bay Area Erotic Hypnosis Group. He leads classes and seminars on introductory and advanced EH topics.
Rich teaches hypnosis as a collaborative process based on building trust and rapport between subject and hypnotist and encouraging effective communication on both sides. Classes are structured as a sequence of practical exercises that quickly build skill and confidence in hypnotists and subjects alike.

It taps into our most primal parts, so manipulating it can place a scene on exciting and dangerous ground. Terror play can illicit strong and, sometimes, illogical and unpredictable reactions from both the bottom and the top. Learning how to use fear as a method of edgeplay while mitigating the potential for possible mental and physical damage is like walking a razor’s edge.
In this class, tops will learn how to get into a bottom’s head and (consensually) exploit their deepest fears. Bottoms will be learn tools to effectively discuss, negotiate, and engage in fear play as safely as possible. Expect the unexpected, as this class will teach you how to safely incorporate terror as an intensely connective form of mindfuck and give you the tools to use it as the basis of an edgeplay scene.
Due to the intensity of the topic, this class is not recommended for beginners in the world of BDSM. Class attendees should arrive already understanding the concepts of RACK, scene negotiations, BDSM safety, and aftercare (i.e.: know all the rules before learning to bend them). Also, fair warning, some may find the demo presentation and subject matter for this class disturbing. After all, that is the entire point.

About the program:

Ever wonder why other people aren’t as clear as you?  Ever have a fight where afterwards you realize it was all just a great big mistake?  Do you sometimes struggle to be understood or even just heard?  Communication is far more complex than just talking about things.  Understanding how you hear and react to your partner and how they hear and react to you takes time and effort.  Learn a variety of proven listening and discussion skills that can help improve the clarity of your communication with your partner/s.  Few things can affect the depth and intensity of any relationship dynamic as profoundly as improving the quality of communication.

About the presenter:

Michael is a largely monogamous dominant and something of a private player who has been in and around the scene for nearly twenty years.  He owned and ran Dragon’s Keep, one of the few N. California public play spaces out of the San Francisco Bay Area.  Over a decade ago, he formed Sacramento’s oldest and largest BDSM groups.  He was the co-founder of Sacramento’s MAsT group.

Combining his passion for woodworking and BDSM, he creates and sells beautiful implements of pain and pleasure.  He has supported a wide variety of leather title holders, community events, and groups with donations of time, money, and his art.  As a presenter, he prefers to teach classes focused on improving relationships and has taught widely at the local level and at the national level.

Society of Janus presents: Anal Fisting 101

Sunday, 8/24, 2-4pm

Location: Center for Sex and Culture

1349 Mission St, San Francisco, CA 94103

Cost: $10 for SoJ Members & Reciprocals, $20 All Others

Fetlife Link: fetlife.com/events/266066

About the Program

“Everything you’ve always wanted to know about fisting, but were afraid to ask.” Most of what we know about fisting we have learned from others. This program seeks to demystify fisting with a “soup-to-nuts” discussion of colon anatomy, safety, technique, communicable diseases, risk and harm reduction, diet, cleaning out, and much, much more! There will be a live demo.

About the Presenter

Larry Shockey has been a member of the kink and fetish communities for more than 20 years, and for almost that long, he has been leading discussions, workshops and presentations on safer fisting techniques. Larry has led programs for Leathermen’s Discussion Group, The SF Ring, Leather Levi Weekend, The Citadel, Sacramento Valley Leather Corps, and others; led discussions on creating the proper headspace for fisting bottoms and tops, developed a hands-in 5 hour workshop for intermediate players and has facilitated discussions for advanced players.

In furtherance of his desire for educating others, in January 2010, the Handball Academy was born. The purpose of the Academy is to provide an educational setting where novices, the curious and those wishing to further hone and develop their fisting skills can come together in an informal setting among their peers to learn, share and grow. The Academy sponsors 6 discussion nights a year, Novice Workshops, a 5 hour hands-in experience, and hopes to implement a weekend Academy in the near future.

In June 2010, his booklet, “The Sacred Art of Fisting,” an outline of play, practice, and safer-sex techniques, was published thanks to a grant from the Stop AIDS Project. That booklet is now undergoing revision and its second edition is scheduled for publication in 2014 in both print and Kindle formats.

Society of Janus Presents: self-ish Submission: Why your Needs Should be Nourished - presented by Mollena
Sunday, June 17, 2012
6:00 PM –8:00 PM
Center for Sex and Culture
1349 Mission Street, San Francisco
Doors open at 5:00 pm
Please note: you do not need to be a member to attend. Janus programs are open to all attendees 18 years of age and older who have a personal, positive interest in BDSM.
The program runs from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, but come early for a mixer and social event!
About Our Program
This exciting and timely program is presented for the Society of Janus by Mollena.
As submissives and slaves, we often approach our relationships from the viewpoint that the ultimate goal is to meet the needs of our partners, and in that way, have our own needs met. While this seems a lofty goal, fully abandoning one’s own needs and wants may not bring the blissful surrender you seek. Sometimes? We need more. Feedback, affection, focus, attention. In power exchange relationships (Hey, they’re called ”exchange” for a reason!) there needs to be an ebb and flow, a give and take that fulfills all parties involved. Knowing what you need, what it takes to achieve your needs, and expressing them clearly can help you be present and fulfilled in your relationships.
We will discuss ways to handle questions such as determining:
How do I know what I want?
What would happen if I have my needs met?
What would happen if I do not have my needs met?
When does serving another become compromising myself?
How do I know when I’ve gone too far?
This discussion will revolve around assessing, categorizing prioritizing and supporting your needs and your wants, and discovering what you are…or are not…willing to do to have these met.
About our Presenter, Mollena Williams
This “Delicate, Trembling Flower of Submission” © is a NYC born and raised writer, actress, BDSM Educator, Storyteller and an Award-Winning Executive Pervert. She is extremely proud to have served as International Ms Leather 2010. She is also thrilled to have been named Ms. San Francisco Leather 2009 after that contest’s decade long slumber.
Exploring kink since 1993, active in BDSM and the Leather Community since 1996, and presenting classes since 1998, she speaks at Leather, BDSM and Kink events across the US, Europe and Canada on many Leather and BDSM focused topics.

I am so proud of what has been accomplished in the last week to get this very important library together and nearing future use here at the Center for Sex and Culture.

I cannot sufficiently begin to thank all the hard working interns and volunteers, none this could have happened without you. Your role is a service to our community.

On that note, please join this community as we celebrate Folsom St. Fair 2011, byGIVING TILL IT HURTS!!!

Come out to Folsom, get spanked, save the world.

Each year, Society of Janus holds a Charty Spanking and Flogging booth at Folsom Street Fair, the proceeds benefitting a local organization. This year, our designated beneficiary is Center for Sex & Culture
If you are a CSC supporter, we ask that you stop by the Janus booth on 9th between Folsom and Harrison and have some fun by getting spanked. Donations start at just $5 and there will be some really hot tops.

PS – Besides Janus’s generous sponsorship, we’ll be sharing a booth with Fantasy Makers again this year – more butt-warming and other naughtiness there too! And don’t miss our other Folsom Day goings-on:

SC Open House

Come by CSC (just two blocks from the Folsom Street Fair!) for our open house. 1349 MIssion St. bn 9th & 10th. Featuring archive show and sale of vintage dungeon equipment!

The CSC Archive Show

Goodies from the Archive of the Center for Sex and Culture will be on display in a rare public showing of selections from the collection. The show features posters, photographs, letters, original documents and manuscripts, and other ephemera from a variety of historically, politically and sexologically significant sources. ’70s porn posters, original manuscripts of groundbreaking erotica, bondage toys of famous perverts and famous pervert places, a vibrating Nimbus 2000 Broomstick and more! Come see the beloved detritus of the movements that made San Francisco the Mecca of sexual liberation and libertinism that we know it as today.

NOT ONLY THAT! Here’s what our fiscal sponsee Mark I Chester is up to:

For Folsom I am doing a group exhibition of sexual and erotic photography.  The opening is Fri Sept. 23rd and the show will have open hours Sat and Sun of Folsom.  Mark also will be doing a digital pix special on Sat and Sun.  The show will be open by appointment thru October. Mark now needs your support more than ever.  Hope to see you soon!
