Suggested donation is $15-20, no one turned away for lack of funds

The Open Relationship Discussion Group is a friendly, moderated, guided discussion for anyone interested in consensual, non-monogamous relationships, based in the Mission Control community and led by open relationship coach Marcia Baczynski. We meet starting at 7:30pm and going to 9:30 with about half an hour of informal social time afterward. Doors open at 7:20. Suggested donation is $15-20, no one turned away for lack of funds. Location TBD each month, until Mission Control gets our new permanent home.

The topic: Self-Love

“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” – RuPaul

The world of open relationships often opens doors to all sorts of love. Many times, the awareness and self-acceptance required to do open relationships well can shift our relationships to ourselves. We may learn to stick up for ourselves, our boundaries and our desires in new ways. We can discover through various lovers what truly satisfies us in bed. And we can see things that are lovable about ourselves through our lovers’ eyes.

But in the open relationship world, self-love can also have a shadow side. It can excuse narcissism. Avoidant partners may try to foist their lack of intimacy off on your supposed lack of self-esteem. And it can be easy to blame ourselves for having whatever baggage we have.

Join us for a lively conversation about self-love. We’ll talk about:

What does it mean to really love yourself?
Is it even true that you can’t love another if you don’t love yourself?
What is the line between self-love and narcissism?
How can you encourage a love affair between your partner(s) and themselves?
    And lots more
