Pride NightLife

@The Academy of Sciences
Thursday, June 26 — Carol & Robert will speak at 7:30!

Music by Hard French DJs Carnita and Brown Amy; plus DJ Rapid Fire and Juanita More
You better work! This week, get into the groove with NightLife’s annual salute to SF Pride.
Join drag queen extraordinaire Heklina and friends for an out-of-this-world drag show, inspired by the farthest (and fiercest!) reaches of outer space.
In the Coral Reef, experience the fabled funk and soul stylings of Hard French DJs Carnita and Brown Amy.
Inside the Piazza, unleash your inner dance floor diva with high energy sets by DJ Rapid Fire and Trannyshack’s Juanita More.
Embrace and learn about the science of being YOU—how you think, feel, communicate and create—during a special screening of The Science of Character, followed by a director Q&A.
Explore the ways that pleasure has evolved over the years with Good Vibrations, who will bring their pop-up antique vibrator museum back by popular demand.
Then, pick up moves to be envied as you learn to vogue with instructor Jocquese Whitfield.
Let your freak flag fly with Scrap SF as you make your own “leather and lace” handcuffs and wristbands, then get personal style tips from the well-groomed fashionistas at dapperQ.
Did you know that some of your favorite celestial constellations have queer histories? Check out a special planetarium presentation of Stargayze at 6:30 and 7:30 pm, followed by two showings of Dark Universe.
At the Project Lab, see beautifully colored nudibranchs from the Academy’s collection—and learn why their flamboyance makes them some of the most remarkable (and showy) creatures in the sea.

21+ Event, ID required for entry.

Note: The 4-story Rainforest exhibit closes at 7:45pm and planetarium passes are distributed to visitors on a first-come first-served basis. Special programs and lectures may have limited seating and admission will also be made available to visitors on a first-come, first-served basis.
