Society of Janus Presents: Take Your Erotic Photography to the Next Level with Michael Rosen
This is a repeat of a very popular class where Michael helps you look at erotic photography with a new perspective.
When: Wednesday, December 5, 2012 · 8–10 PM Where: Center for Sex & Culture 1349 Mission St, SF (btw 9 &10th St) Cost: $5 Janus members and reciprocal orgs, $20 all others.
About the program: Want to progress beyond merely recording an erotic or sexual situation? Beyond, “Here’s my sweetie in bondage”? We’ll discuss ways to differentiate your pictures from the next person’s via subject matter, technique and style, using examples from the masters.
About the presenter: Michael Rosen, San Francisco’s foremost photographer of sexual art, has been creating erotic and sexually explicit work since 1977 - including stark nude landscapes, gritty images of S/M sex, and studio portraits and action photos involving BDSM, erotic piercings, gender play and “non-standard penetration”. His latest work comprises soft and romantic images of explicit sex that challenge the banality of pornography.
There are five monographs of Michael’s photographs: “Sexual Magic”, “Sexual Portraits”, “Sexual Art”, “Lust & Romance” and “Vanilla Sex”. He received a Venus Award from Good Vibrations in San Francisco and was nominated for an Erotic Oscar in London. He has had many one- and two- person shows and has been in many, many group shows, erotic art festivals and publications. Michael was just named a “Master of Erotic Art” by the Seattle Erotic Art Festival.
