The Center for Sex and Culture at Folsom Street Fair

Librarians, Leather and Literature — Oh, my!

September 23rd at the Folsom Street Fair

September is sexy with Folsom Street Fair coming up this Sunday.  But remember — this month is also Library Card Sign-up Month, so visit the Center for Sex and Culture booth on 8th and Folsom at Folsom Street Fair at booth #819. Sign up for your library membership or give a donation and get book-spanked by a librarian.  (If you give a higher donation, you may even be able to do the spanking.)

The Center for Sex & Culture Library and Archive was born from, and is sustained by, donated collections of books, magazines, journals, zines, comics, dissertations, works of art, videos, memorabilia, and the personal papers of key members of the community. It is being cataloged by a team of dedicated volunteers and interns, under the supervision of Anissa Malady, MLIS and Tess McCarthy, MLIS.

The Center for Sex & Culture is proud to be a recipient of a San Francisco Arts Commission Creative Space Grant, supporting CSC's physical space in three ways: developing our library (particularly shelving); improving our lighting grid, both for library and for our stage area; and supporting disability access to the building and its restroom facilities.
