Sex Education in America

Dear friends of the Center for Sex and Culture,

My name is Caitlin Krapf. Carol Queen was kind enough to agree to circulate this letter for me. I am contacting you because I am working on a feature documentary about Sex Education in America. We are attempting to look at the history of sex education, the current state of affairs, and also what might be done to create a better, more inclusive, more comprehensive way to teach sex education.

As a part of this project, we are trying to gather people's memories of their sex-ed experience both good and bad, funny, scary, embarrassing, and otherwise. We are looking for stories about anything from "the talk" with parents, formal sex-ed in the classroom, stories from peers, or people's individual attempts when these more traditional methods did not suffice. We are particularly interested in people who have journal entries, diary entries, etc from this time in their life.

Additionally, if anyone has any interesting memories from being on the other side of this experience, as a teacher, parent, big sibling, etc. we would also be very interested in your perspective.

If you have any materials or stories, that you would like to share, please feel free to contact us. We will not include anything in the finished documentary without your written permission. And also feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely, Caitlin Krapf and Brenda Goodman, Producers This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it 323-251-9947
