Being human, our bodies mediate our experience. In this six-week course, we've looked at the ways embodied experience is communicated and crafted in poetry, fiction, and memoir. The writers in this class have taken the body as their subject: its abilities, its failures, its pleasures and its humiliations. They present for you tonight sharply observed pieces that expand the physical vocabulary and take a closer look at the daily difficulties and joys of the corporeal. |
