Award-winning erotic film director Jennifer Lyon Bell talks about her work making “erotic film for people who like film” in Europe.  Jennifer –originally from San Francisco – will preview her two short award-winning films “Matinée” and “Headshot”, talk about Blue Artichoke Films’ unique production approach, discuss why she thinks emotional realism enhances portrayals of hot sex, note how European porn/erotica might compare to what’s currently available in America, and give a peek into some of her upcoming films shot in London and Belgium.

Everyone is welcome and Q&A is encouraged.

Bio:
Jennifer Lyon Bell is a Harvard-educated feminist erotic film director, curator, and writer living in Amsterdam. Her artistic, unusual fiction and documentary films have screened all over the world, including at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, at the Melbourne Underground Film Festival (where her film was banned by the Australian government and then won Best Short Film), and at Toronto's Feminist Porn Awards earlier this year.

When Jennifer is not directing, she creates opportunities to highlight the work of her fellow film-makers. She brings sexy, unusual porn and erotica to new viewers through venues like the Rated X Amsterdam Alternative Erotica Film Festival, Ladyfest, and the Museum of Sex in New York. She also writes about sexuality and was the sex advice columnist “Ladywood” for the arts & culture paper Amsterdam Weekly.
