Submissive Self-Safety: A Workshop
w/ Cecilia Tan

Thursday, July 23, 7-9pm
Cost: $20-35 sliding scale

You're a bottom, sub, or slave. Chances are that in your fantasies you are whipped, bound, or tortured, as well as cared for, protected, or owned. In our ideal BDSM world, boundaries are always respected and no one ever gets unintentionally hurt or injured. But as you probably know, whether from experience or just from common sense, fantasy and reality diverge. Tops forget your safeword. Doms fail to pick up your cues. Things you thought you were okay with... very suddenly you're not. What do you do? Tough it out and then vent about it on your blog the next day? Or take responsibility for your own well-being? Is it even possible for someone in subspace to take that initiative? Can you learn to? And will you be doing your top a disservice or a great service by doing so? Ultimately only you can be responsible for your physical and mental health, and ultimately you will be the one to deal with what scars you may be left with if something goes wrong. How do you keep from deepening the scars with self-blame or turning your relationship with your top toxic because you blame them? What's the difference between responsibility and blame? Bring your minds and hearts to the table and we'll discuss this deeply personal but highly necessary issue.
