Body Heat is a collective of fierce, sassy, irreverent Femme artists setting ablaze performance art communities and smashing Femme stereotypes. Porn, Kink, Smut, Erotica - Body Heat is not reclaiming our sex so much as OWNING it. We will turn you on. We will challenge all of your Gender, Sex, Feminist, Social, & Political boundaries & assumptions. We will entertain the hell out of you. Mostly we will leave you panting, begging, and dripping for more.

Body Heat’s first national tour took place in Spring 2008 and featured: kathleen delaney, Jennifer Cross,  Vixen Noir, Meliza Banales, Lorelie Lee, Celestina Pearl, with special appearances by Diana Cage & Carol Queen! It was transformative for both us and our often sold-out audiences.

Body Heat offers both a mind-blowing performance as well as workshops on Sex / Porn / Gender / writing.

Bios:
Amber Dawn (a.k.a. Trala La) is a grass-roots darling, writer, and performance artist. Her first book, "With A Rough Tongue" - an anthology of femme-written porn, was nominated for an Independent Publishers Award. Her genderfuck docu-porn, "Girl on Girl," screened in eight countries and has been added to the curriculum at Concordia University. She is a sex-worker turned sexual health educator. We are eagerly anticipating her second book, “Fist of the Spider Women: Tales of Fear and Queer Desire,” coming out in Spring 2009!!!! Also featuring Courtney Trouble, Michelle Tea and Nomy Lamm, the new book is a collection of queer women written horror fiction.

kathleen delaney is a High Femme who performs Queer Hard-Core Porn Spoken Word, full-time slave, definite DIVA, whose provocative performances ignite, shock, challenge, and eroticize Butch/Femme, Queer, and BDSM dynamics! She has toured both coasts, sharing the stage with such acts as Margaret Cho, Shar Rednour, Amber Dawn, Athens Boys Choir, Michelle Tea, Carol Queen, Diana Cage, Ian Harvie, Meliza Banales, Scott Turner Schofield, and S. Bear Bergman. her first CD recording, Stiletto, is available on CD Baby & at her shows (see blog to order!) kathleen is the organizer & producer of BODY HEAT: Femme Porn Tour, a national tour of Femme Porn performance artists that in 2008 featured kathleen, Jen Cross, Vixen Noir, Celestina Pearl, Meliza Banales, Lorelie Lee, & MORE!

Meliza Bañales is the first Latina to ever win a Poetry Slam Championship on the west coast in 2002(Oakland), the 2002 winner of the People Before Profits Poetry Prize, and published her first book, Say It With Your Whole Mouth, at the age of twenty-five. Meliza Bañales is the author of Girl With the Glass Throat, Scratching a Surface, and Say It With Your Whole Mouth (nominated for a Poetry Center Book Award in 2004). Her work has been featured in the anthologies Revolutionary Voices (ed., by Ami Sonny) and Without a Net: The Female Experience of Growing-Up Working-Class (ed., by Michelle Tea), both of which were LAMBDA nominees, as well as in Transfer, Lodestar Quarterly, and Laundry Pen. She was the 2002 Oakland Grand Slam Champ as well as the 2002 winner of the People Before Profits Poetry Prize. She has fiction in the upcoming anthology Baby, Remember My Name: New Queer Girl Writing (ed., by Michelle Tea), four entries in the first ever Encyclopedia of Activism and Social Justice, a short film, Do the Math, with Mary Guzmán in Frameline 2006 (which was also the winner of a 2006 Frameline Completion Grant), and a second book of poems, 51 Poems About Nothing At All, out in June from Monkey Press. She writes reviews and short articles highlighting women of color for Girlfriends and On Our Backs magazines and splits her time between Savannah, GA and the Bay Area.

Jen Cross is a femme dyke incest survivor and smut writer. Her erotica has appeared in a plethora of anthologies, including, most recently, Nobody Passes, Best Women's Erotica 2007, Naughty Spanking Stories A-Z 2, as well as on CleanSheets.com. Based in the Bay Area, she's featured at such lascivious events as Sizzle, Writers With Drinks, the National Queer Arts Festival, Queer Open Mic. She participated in the smutty part of last year's LitQuake LitCrawl, pouring out porn for a capacity crowd at GoodVibes. She's is a co-collaborator in the dyke erotica collective Dirty Ink, and, because she cannot get enough dirty words, leads erotic writing workshops and co-facilitates (with Carol Queen) a monthly Erotic Reading Circle at the Center for Sex and Culture. Jen writes to release, transform, and create space for as much unspoken erotica as possible, and is a firm believer in the transformative power of smut.

Vixen Noir (a.k.a. Veronica C. Combs) is a San Francisco-based erotic performance artist and burlesque dancer, actress, poetess, modern/jazz dancer, singer as well as director, producer, choreographer and filmmaker who has been wowing audiences with her sexy jaw-dropping performances for more than 12 years! Vixen integrates her extensive dance and theatre background to create performances that range from sublime to raucous, raunchy to seductive, titillating to beautiful, and that are artistically compelling and visually stimulating. Her work embodies a commitment to claiming erotic power, building bridges across racial, social and economic divides and celebrating the diversity of gender expression. Vixen’s work is unapologetically sexual, multicultural, and assists us all to revel in the ecstasy of our own divine power. During 2007, Vixen made her mark in Australia at Sydney’s world-famous Gurlesque, a Lesbian Strip Club hosted by the divine Sex Intents and Glita Supernova, and at the Sly Fox’s Queer Central, Vanessa Wagner’s World Famous Amateur Strip Comp, and at Hellfire, Sydney’s premiere fetish club. In Melbourne, she was a Midsumma Festival favorite as she strutted her stuff in Tranzlesbian Gendermash and the sold-out raucous rock event, Rock Strip! One of Vixen’s most notable claims is as founder and former Artistic Director of liquidFIRE Productions, a San Francisco-based non-profit organization dedicated to the authentic representation of lesbians and queer women of color on stage (1997 – 2006). She is the mastermind behind the organization’s theatre company, The liquidFIRE Project, whose original productions explored and celebrated erotic power. Vixen is currently developing a one-woman show that explores the origin and evolution of her erotic power and her full-length narrative film, Unlikely Soul.
